The Netherlands is conducting a national rebranding.
The Dutch government decided to stop calling the country Holland. Please use only the official name “Netherlands” is also addressed to the world community. Measures have been taken to update the global image of the country, reports The Guardian.
The authorities also intend to shift international focus from discrediting the honor of the country aspects of national life — drugs, and “red light district” in Amsterdam.
“We want to present the Netherlands as an open, creative and inclusive country. We have upgraded all approaches,” said the local Ministry of foreign Affairs.
