Dariga Nazarbayev during his working trip to West Kazakhstan region has visited the border check post “Raw” on the Kazakh-Russian border, where he got acquainted with the updated infrastructure of the checkpoints, the press service of the Senate.
According to the staff of the frontier post, a day via this site, on average it takes more than a thousand cars. A few months ago, the capacity of the post could not cope with the volume of transport: there were huge traffic jams, truckers transporting the goods, and sometimes the whole day were forced to stand in line. Currently, the infrastructure of the post is fully updated, in addition to the existing two lanes crossing vehicles added eight equipped inspection lanes. This has solved the problem of traffic jams on this stretch of the Kazakh-Russian border.
Also during his working trip to West Kazakhstan region, the Chairman Senate also visited JSC “West Kazakhstan engineering company” in oral and familiarized with the ecological situation on the river Zhaiyk.
According to “Kazgidromet”, in 2017 the water in the river was less than 30-40%. Locals say that in the last decade, the river overflows its banks even during the flood period. The speaker of the Senate showed metering, where in some places the depth of the first deep river is only 50 cm.
