The head of state pointed to the global significance of e-Commerce in the modern world.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has urged the Commonwealth actively to share experience and knowledge in the field of modern technologies. The President reminded the participants of the Council of CIS heads of state that in 2018, the volume of global e-Commerce reached $ 1.8 trillion, amounting to 11.5% of retail trade turnover, reports Akorda.
“The rapid development of digital technologies is changing the landscape of life States. In all CIS countries is working on the digitalization of the economy. To achieve a synergetic effect to exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as joint efforts in the framework of the Commonwealth. In this connection, offer regular special forums of the CIS by modern technology. Similar measures already are being tested in the framework of the Eurasian economic Union”, — said the head of state.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that in 5 years the volume of global electronic Commerce will grow to 2.8 trillion dollars.
The President has also proposed to develop a regulatory document, able to provide conditions for the development of e-Commerce within the Commonwealth, whose share in the global total now stands at just 1%.
